Easter Island Post

We traveled four days at sea to arrive this morning, Monday, January 21st, at Easter Island which is located 2,300 miles west of Chile. After taking an exciting ride in rough sea swells from the ship by tender to the port we boarded our van and traveled the island to various points that have standing moai ("moh-eye") or the carved stone statues that make the island famous. Tom and I marveled at the beauty of the scenery with the mostly green color of the land, the blue sky, and the azure color of the ocean. We kept saying how fortunate we are to have visited this very beautiful, albeit remote, island in the South Pacific.
