We've spent a week in paradise - New Zealand is a special country and we saw plenty of reasons why that is true. So many beautiful places; lots of folks who befriended us; great memories. Photos included are ports we visited on New Zealand's North Island, after we left Auckland - including Tauranga, with its dormant volcano Mount Maunganui, plus Napier, where we visited wineries at Brookfield's and Mission Estates, and lastly the capital city of Wellington, which we loved with its wonderful cable car to the Botanic Gardens and Te Papa Museum along the waterfront.
Next we sailed to Picton on the South Island and our tour included a visit to a sheep farm and a wonderful lunch at the host's family home. We loved New Zealand, but now we sail on for three days across the Tasman Sea to Sydney, Australia.
Terrific post, as always. Kris and I have done the Botanic Gardens in Wellington many times. This is the best and least expensive 'round the world trip I've taken--vicariously through you guys. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi! Greetings from Florida. Just when we think we've figured out how to leave comments, we're WRONG! Please know, even though we don't "comment" often, we are enjoying following along on your journeys. We were very happy to know there was quite the fancy celebration for Steve's birthday! How nice that there are host family's in some ports that you can get to know personally! Can't wait to hear about your time spent "down under". Hide your babies, those dingo's are crazy I've heard! :) Love, Niki
